Help us save the Andean Bear before they dissapear forever

Donate

Armando with some rescued cubs We need your help! We are currently the major organisation in the world tracking Andean Bears with radio equipment. The information we are gathering is vital to their survival. Despite this we are a small, grass-roots operation with little funding and we depend on donations to continue our day to day operations.

Without your support we can not continue this critical work. We need money to pay for tracking equipment, vehicles, camping supplies and much more. We are a non-profit organisation and every dollar you donate will be used directly for the project.

You will be sent a receipt as soon as the donation has been received. All donations are gratefully received, however due to the processing costs we can not accept donations less than US$10.

Thank you for your support!

Donate Online

You can now make a contribution towards this project online, using your credit card. Donations made in this way incur a 4% processing fee (this is taken out of your donation, not added on top of it), however the rest of the donation goes directly to the Andean Bear Conservation Project.

Donate Equipment

We gratefully accept donations of both new and used equipment (as long as it works!). Tracking bears requires a lot of outdoor hiking and camping and we are always in need of new equipment for this. If you have any spare equipment that you are willing to part with please send it to:

Currently we are in desperate need of the following:

  • Handheld GPS System - absolutely vital for working out the exact locations of our listening stations. We need at least two small, reliable, all weather systems that we can carry with us in the field.
  • Sight Compasses - in the high altitude and rugged terrain of the Ecuadorian Andes, compasses quickly deteriorate. We need high quality, sturdy compasses with sights (please do not send us map compasses as these are of little use).
  • Camping Equipment - we need tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats and most other basic camping equipment. Ecuador has a lot of heavy rainfall during the wet season and it is very cold at the altitudes where we work so please send us only equipment that can be used in such situations.
