Donate

Donations allow us to continue our work to save the bears.  We are currently the major organisation in the world tracking Andean Bears with radio equipment, gathering information for their survival.  Despite this we are a small, grass-roots operation with little funding and we depend on donations for our day to day operations.
We also need funds to rescue orphaned bear cubs whose mothers have been illegally killed, rehabilitate them and return them safely to the wild.  By liberating rehabilitated Andean bears to breed in the wild we help increase the genetic diversity of this endangered species.  Currently we are caring for orphaned Andean bear cub Bubu, and we need your donations to get him back to the wild where he belongs.
Without your support we cannot continue our efforts in bear conservation and research.  We need money to pay for tracking equipment, transport, camping supplies and much more.  We are a non-profit organisation and every dollar you donate will be used directly for the project in its work to save bears, either directly in the case of a rescued bear cub, or as a species through research to understand more about their needs.  As well as donating, there are also other ways to help - see below.
Donate Online
Donations can be made to the Andean Bear Foundation online, using your credit card, through Click & Pledge.  Donations made in this way incur a 4% processing fee (this is taken out of your donation, not added on top of it), however the rest of the donation goes directly to the Andean Bear Foundation.  You will be sent a receipt as soon as the donation has been received.  All donations are gratefully received, however due to the processing costs we cannot accept donations less than US$10 through Click & Pledge.  Donate online with Click & Pledge now.  Thank you for your support!
Donors who work for an American corporation may be able to get their employer to match their donation or contribute for their volunteering.  The employer will probably need the EIN number of the Andean Bear Foundation, which is 81-0664911.
Donate by Cheque
We are currently unable to accept donations by cheque.  Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Donate Equipment
Donations of both new and used equipment (as long as it works!) are gratefully accepted WITHIN ECUADOR.  Ecuadorian customs charge significant taxes on parcels arriving in the country, often more than what the contents are worth.  If you would like to send us something from abroad, please contact us first on info@andeanbear.org so that we can establish whether there is a cost-effective method to receive it.
Currently we are in need of the following: Camping equipment: binoculars, tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats and most other basic camping equipment.  Ecuador has a lot of heavy rainfall during the wet season and it is cold at the altitudes where we work so please send us only equipment that can be used in such situations.  Veterinary supplies: anaesthetics.
